June Sunday Sampler Features Free Art Events

The Akron Art Museum teams up with the Akron-Summit County Public Library and Summit Artspace for a day of free family events during June’s Sunday Sampler.

At the Akron Art Museum, open 11 am – 5 pm, enjoy free gallery admission to the collection and special exhibitions All-Star Jazz: The Photographs of Herman Leonard and Sarah Kabot: Unfolding Space. This will be the last day to see “M.C. Escher: Impossible Realities” before it returns to Athens, Greece. Gallery admission is required for M.C. Escher: Impossible Realities ($7 adults; $5 seniors and students; members and children 12 and under free). For more information visit www.AkronArtMuseum.org or call 330.376.9185.

The Akron-Summit County Public Library will be open from 1 – 5 pm, with Story Time Sampler in the Children’s Library at 2 pm. For more information visit www.akronlibrary.org or call 330.643.9000.

Summit Artspace will be open from 1 – 5 pm and will feature the special exhibition Beyond Newsprint from six Akron Beacon Journalists. A painting with palette knife demonstration by Betty Wolfe and a painting demonstration by Susan Birgeles will occur from 1-3 pm courtesy of the Akron Women’s Art League.
