Island of Misfit Toys Workshop

Come join us for some holiday family fun with the annual Island of Misfit Toys workshop on Saturday, December 10. Bring the family to the museum to break, bash and build using bits and pieces from electronic toys, stuffed animals, action figures and odds and ends to create one-of-a-kind sculptures.

Kids will have a blast deconstructing everything from remote control cars and plush toys to Barbie dolls and reassembling the parts into strange and humorous sculptural artworks.

Guests can choose from three time slots: 11:30 am to 1 pm, 1:30 to 3 pm and 3:30 to 5 pm. There is no charge for this event but we ask that each family brings one new, unwrapped toy for a child in need.

All tools and materials provided, Cast-off toys and items from home are welcomed. Donations of clean but unwanted or broken toys can be dropped off in the museum’s lobby throughout the day of the event.

You must register and choose a time to attend this event. Visit http://www.AkronArtMuseum.com to register. For more information, call 330.376.9186 x247.

Family Drop-In Day support is made possible by a gift from Dominion Foundation.
