Art of Ale returns to the Akron Art Museum’s Beatrice Knapp McDowell Grand Lobby on Friday, March 9, from 6-9 pm, offering guests the opportunity to enjoy expertly crafted beers from Ohio brewmakers and tasty treats from regional food purveyors.
Breweries attending include Hoppin’ Frog Brewery, House of LaRose-Chicago Crafted Beers, Indigo Imp Brewery Ltd, Main Street Grille & Brewing Company, Rockmill Brewery, Thirsty Dog Brewing Company, Lagerheads Brewing Company, Ohio Brewing Company, Elevator Brewing and more.
The beers will be paired with regionally produced food including samplings from Lucky Penny Farm Creamery, OrDerv Foods, Devitis Italian Market, Our Daily Bread, Pierogi Lady of Hartville, Frankly Franks Kettle Corn and Old Carolina Barbeque.
“Pinging the Keg” to celebrate the opening of Art of Ale will occur at 6 pm. Throughout the evening experts and home beer making demonstrations will be available to discuss your own brewing troubles and successes.
Akron Beacon Journal Reporter Rick Armon will autograph his recently released book “Ohio Breweries” on the state of brewing in Ohio, which is available for purchase in the Museum Store.
Enter to win the chance to win a beer making evening at The Brew Kettle Taproom and Smokehouse, located in Strongsville for you and five of your friends or the chance to win a home brewing kit to get you started with brewing your own beer. Many more prizes will be offered during the evening.

Admission: Adult general admission is $7, Student and Senior (65+) general admission is $5, Children (12 and under) are FREE, members are FREE. On the first Sunday of every month, individual admission to the collection is FREE. Special exhibitions may require paid admission. No tours available on these days.
