“Parlor Tricks” an exhibition of new works by Mallorie Freeman

William Rupnik Gallery is proud to present:

Mallorie Freeman
March 10 – April 1, 2012

Opening Reception: 7-10 PM, Saturday, March 10th

Mallorie Freeman’s mixed media works and oil paintings have been gaining considerable attention, finding their ways into collections both large and small, private and public. We are now thrilled to bring you Parlor Tricks, Mallorie’s newest solo exhibition following her 2009 sell-out, Spicy Dames and Tales of Mystery. This time around, Mallorie draws inspiration from Victorian-era Spiritualism, the techniques that were used to connect with the afterlife, and the swindlers and charlatans that exploited the trade. Figurative with elements of text from vintage advertisements, Mallorie’s new body of work brings into question what is real and what is trickery.

Coinciding with the gallery exhibition, selections from Mallorie’s recent portfolio, Lost Track, will be on view at Lava Lounge. Please join the artist, curator, and crew immediately following the gallery reception on March 10th. A swank atmosphere with premier DJs and a sumptuous food and drink menu welcome gallery show goers. Lava Lounge is located at 1307 Auburn Ave., in the historic Tremont neighborhood of Cleveland.

Opening reception at the Euclid Avenue gallery 7-10 PM, Saturday, March 10th. After-party at Lava Lounge 10 PM – ? AM.
