Family Portrait Drop-In Day at the Akron Art Museum

Families across the centuries have captured memories with painted portraits, formal photos and candid snapshots. Today, we document our lives with devices galore.

Bring your family down to view and create family portraits on March 24 during the Akron Art Museum’s Family Portrait Drop-In Day. First, explore how artists create portraits in the museum’s galleries on a portrait-themed tour. Then try your hand at a variety of portrait making activities including a Polaroid photo booth and old fashioned cut-paper silhouettes.

Art making activities will take place continuously from 12 pm – 4 pm in the lobby. Thirty minute portrait gallery tours will take place at 12:30 pm, 1:30 pm and 2:30 pm.

Members and children 12 years and under are free. Regular gallery admission rates apply to non-member adults.

Family Drop-Ins are made possible by a gift from Dominion Foundation.
